During the winter, Iceland experiences long dark nights and often cold clear weather, ideal conditions for seeing the northern lights. These spectacular displays of the Aurora Borealis are seen on may winter nights in Iceland, they are dependent on clear skies and other natural conditions such as solar wind activity. Departure times for the trips vary depending upon daylight hours and the duration of our tours will depend on how long we have to wait for the northern lights to appear. Sightings of the northern lights can never be guaranteed. Our final decision on whether to run a tour is made on the day, and based on weather and other conditions at the time. We reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule a tour at short notice.
